How do I clone and re-align a formative assessment?
In Mastery Connect, you can clone a formative item-based assessment and re-align it to a new standard.
The cloned assessment can include items from your personal item bank, and district item banks. Items from paid third party banks will be removed from the assessment if selected alignments have not been added to the item from the publisher. District Approved assessments, and document-based assessments cannot be cloned and re-aligned.
Note: Mastery Connect admins and users with benchmark permissions can clone and re-align benchmark assessments.
Open Clone & Re-Align
To locate an assessment, use the search and filter options [1]. To expand and collapse the filter menu, click the Expand icon [2].
Locate the assessment you want to clone, click the More Options icon [3]. Then, click the Clone & Re-align link [4].
Notes:
- Assessments in the draft state can not be cloned and re-aligned.
- If the Clone & Re-align option does not display in the More Options menu, the assessment is not available to clone and re-align.
Re-Align Assessment
Enter a new name for the cloned assessment in the Title field [1].
To re-align the assessment by core, click the Core drop-down menu and select a new core [2].
To re-align the assessment by class, click the Class drop-down menu and select a new class [3].
Click the Clone & Re-Align button [4].
Edit Cloned Assessment
The cloned assessment displays.
Items from the original assessment that cannot be re-aligned display an error message [1]. To delete error items and continue editing the assessment, click the item's Delete icon [2].
Cloned items that do not include the new standard alignment are labeled No Standard. To view a short description of available standards and align the item to the new standard, click the Standard drop-down menu [3]. Then, click a standard name [4].
Alternatively, to select a new standard by ID number in the item posting, click the More Options icon [5]. Then, click the Standard drop-down menu [6], and select a standard from the list [7].
