What is the Performance Grader?
The Performance Grader in Mastery Connect allows you to view, score, or input student responses to assessment items.
If you view an item-based assessment in the Performance Grader, you can view each item as well as student responses. You can also navigate from item-to-item and student-to-student.
If you view a document-based assessment in the Performance Grader, you can access tools to manage the assessment document. You can select student responses. You can also navigate from student-to-student.
Use the Performance Grader to grade rubric-based items, assess item-based assessments, or assess document-based assessments. You can also scan bubble sheets through the Performance Grader using the Mastery Connect Mobile App.
Viewing Item-Based Assessment
When you open the Performance Grader to view an item-based assessment, a list of students displays [1]. You can view each student's ID, their overall score, and their current mastery level. To collapse the list to show only name initials, click the Collapse icon [2].
The currently selected student's name displays [3]. To move to other students, click the student navigation icons [4].
A list of assessment items displays [5]. You can view each item's associated standard, total number of points possible, item number, item title, and item type.
To sort the items in the item list, click the Sort by drop-down menu [6], and select either the Needs Grading or Numerical Order option.
The currently selected item displays [7]. You can view the item as well as the selected student's response. You can also view the item's scoring status [8]. To open other items, you can scroll down the item list, or click the item navigation icons [9].
Viewing Document-Based Assessment
When the Performance Grader displays a document-based assessment, a list of students displays [1]. You can view each student's ID, their overall score, and their current mastery level. To collapse the list to show only name initials, click the Collapse icon [2].
The currently selected student's name displays [3]. To move to other students, click the student navigation icons [4].
A list of assessment items displays [5].
The assessment document displays [6]. To open an outline view of the assessment document, find words in the document, go to a specific page of the document, or zoom in or out, you can use document management icons [7].
To open options for managing the assessment document, click the Tools Menu icon [8]. You can open the assessment document, print it, download it, rotate it, open a text selection tool, or open a hand tool using the tool options [9].
