How do I use sync to give parents access to Mastery Connect?
As a Mastery Connect admin, you can give parents or guardians access to the Mastery Connect Parent Portal by requesting a sync to your student information system (SIS). The sync adds parent email addresses to their associated student accounts and sends activation email messages to parents.
Alternatively, you can manually grant parent access one account at at time or import parent email addresses via a CSV file.
Verify Contacts
Since parents and guardians will have access to private student assessment data, you must verify that the contacts are FERPA compliant guardians.
Create Support Request
Once you’ve confirmed contacts as FERPA compliant guardians, create a ticket with Mastery Connect Support. Include the following in the ticket:
- Confirmation that you’ve checked for FERPA compliance
- Confirmation that you authorize Support to sync the contacts from your SIS into Mastery Connect
- A preferred date range when you’d like Support to create accounts and send out emails
As soon as a contact is imported via sync, the contact receives an activation email. Each contact must activate their account.
Note: To sync new contact information in the future, repeat this process.
