How do I create a cloze drop-down item?
In Mastery Connect, you can create a cloze drop-down item. A cloze drop-down is a fill-in-the-blank (typically word-based) question in which each blank is pre-populated with a drop-down menu option.
You can create any item type through the Item Editor. You can also use the Item Editor to add passages, add item-level tools, and save the item. To open and use the Item Editor, learn more about:

Enter Question or Instructions
In the Item Editor, enter the item prompt in the Compose question field [1].
Enter or copy and paste text in the Template markup field [2]. To enter a response box in place of a piece of text, use the cursor to highlight the text [3]. Then click the Insert Response icon [4].
Add Answer Choices
Enter a correct answer and alternate answer choices for the first response box in the Response 1 fields [1]. To add additional response options, click the Add link [2]. To delete a response option, click the Delete icon [3].
Repeat for all response boxes.
Enter Correct Responses
Enter a point value for the item in the Point(s) box [1].
Click a response box and select the correct answer from the drop-down menu [2]. Repeat for all response boxes.
To match a response against all combinations of valid and alternate responses for the response position click the Match all possible responses checkbox [3].
To add additional scoring, layout, formatting, and labeling options for the item, click the More options drop-down menu [4].
Validate Answers
To preview the item interaction, select answers from a response box drop-down menu. Repeat for all response boxes.
To view correct and incorrect answers, click the Show Answers checkbox [1]. Correct answers display a check mark and are shaded green [2]. Incorrect answers display an X and are shaded red [3]. If response box displays an incorrect answer, the correct answer displays in the Correct answers section [4].
The number of points awarded for the item as answered in the preview window over the number of points possible display in the scoring bubble [5].
