What are the visibility options for assessments in the Parent and Student Portals?
As a Mastery Connect teacher, you can control the visibility of assessment information in the parent and student portals for both formative and benchmark assessments. You can make the following visible or hidden in the portals:
- assessment items
- assessment answer key
- item analysis details
- student answers
You can control the privacy display settings for all assessments in a tracker, or for individual single-standard or multi-standard assessments.
Notes:
- Assessment report data is hidden until the assessment is taken by the student, or until you make it visible.
- Available display options are determined by assessment type.
Portal Display Options
The chart below indicates the assessment type and availability of display options. Please refer to the Chart Key below.

Chart Key:
✓ Viewable: This option can be visible or hidden in the portals.
X Hidden: This option is always hidden in the portals.
* Correct answer is displayed on the Assessment tab: The answer key is displayed below each item displayed on the Assessment tab.
~ Students answers are displayed as points - Correct or Incorrect: Student answers are displayed in the portals as correct or incorrect.
View Assessments
To view an assessment, click the Assessment tab.
If the assessment is set to visible, the source materials display in the parent and student portals.
View Answer Key
To view the answer key, click the Answer Key tab.
If the answer key is set to visible, the correct answer for each question displays in the parent and student portals.
View Answer Key for Item-Based Assessments
To view the answer key for an item-based assessment, click the Assessment tab. The answer displays in the Correct answer field [2].
Notes:
- The answer key only displays when the testing window is open.
- The answer key displays in the assessment tab for item-based assessments only.
View Item Analysis
To view the item analysis, click the Item Analysis tab.
If the data is visible, the portals display information about how other students who completed the assessment answered each question.
View Student Answers
To view student answers, click the Student Answers tab [1].
Correct answers display in green [2] and incorrect answers display in red [3].
View Points Earned
To view the number of points the student earned for each answer, click the Student Answers tab [1]. The number of points earned for each answer display [2].
