How do I reset a student’s password as a teacher?

If a student forgets their Mastery Connect password, they must ask their teacher to reset it. You can only reset a student password as a teacher if your school or district Student Information System (SIS) is integrated with Mastery Connect.

Note: You can only change a student's password if the student has activated their account. If a student has not activated their account, you can send them account activation information.

Open Trackers

In the Global Navigation menu, click the Trackers link [1]. To view the students in a tracker, click the tracker name [2].

Open Students Page

The tracker opens to the Students tab. To view more details about the students, click the More Options button [1] and select the People link [2].

In the People menu, click the Students link.

The Students page lists all the students in your classes. Locate the student whose password you need to reset, and click the Edit link.

Enter and Save New Password

To reset the student's password, enter a temporary password containing at least eight characters into the New Password field [1]. Then, enter the same password into the Confirm Password field [2].

To save the new password, click the Save button [3].

The student can now log in to the Mastery Connect Student Portal with the temporary password you entered. After logging into the Student Portal, the student will be prompted to enter and confirm their own new password.
