Does Canvas work in Costa Rica?

I am going to Costa Rica next week and would like to continue to access my courses and answer my students' questions. I am a college instructor using Canvas LMS. Please answer me yes or no if I will be able to access Canvas in Costa Rica, from Canvas's perspective. I understand that there may be restrictions in place from the school or country. From Canvas's point of view, please answer yes or no if Costa Rica is set up to have access. Thanks so much! Devan

Hi @DEVANDUNNEBACK,
Canvas is a basically a website, so aside from following U.S. export control restrictions as noted on the https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Basics-Guide/Which-countries-are-restricted-from-using-Can... page, there is really nothing Instructure would do to block access to their hosted version of Canvas. It's hard to give a guarantee that you'll be able to access your Canvas instance, but Costa Rica is not on the export controls list at this time, so as long as the internet provider there is not blocking anything and neither is your school/institution, I think you'll likely be able to access Canvas.
