HI All,
When I use SpeedGrade in the Canvas App on my iPad, the annotations (being able to write directly on the submitted file) work pretty seamlessly. But when I try to use the Canvas Browser window and use Speed Grader and a Drawing pad, the annotations work, but it creates this weird box, that makes it very difficult to do a lot of writing. Does anyone know how to fix or work around this? Not everyone in my dept. has an ipad to use for grading.

@mjellis Welcome to the Canvas Community! I took a quick look at the recent activity in your courses and noted that prior to switching to the Canvas Teacher app, you were using Chrome 70 to access Canvas through the browser. Is that correct? If so, you'll need to update the browser to a supported version (at this writing, Chrome 80 and 81 are supported), as listed in Which browsers does Canvas support? We hope that will improve your Speedgrader experience.
Hi Kat -
Yes, the Canvas Teacher is awesome for annotating, isn't it?
I tried using the same annotation tool in the browser, and the dotted boxes disappeared when I created another mark. It also went away after ending my annotations and moving to the next student. If you could share a screenshot of what you're seeing, that would be really helpful, too.
I do not have an ipad I am not a mac person and I am pulling my hair out trying to grade. The SpeedGrader is CRAP in every browser I try. By far the worst piece of software I have ever used! I doubt anyone from Canvas will see or address this. But it is almost impossible to grade papers using it. I have tried Google Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft edge. I may try Safari since you say it seems to work on an iPad. Canvas Please fix it or tell us what browser it works on for Windows PC. There is a horrible lag that makes writing almost impossible.

I feel like this wasn't a Chrome version issue; I'm using the latest version of Chrome four years later and still experiencing the same issues described here when annotating in SpeedGrader...
