Syncing gradebook

My students completed an assignment on paper, but I entered their grades in the Gradebook. When I go to sync my Canvas Gradebook to PowerSchool, I do not see the assignment listed as an assignment that will sync. Since I had the students do the assignment on paper, am I unable to sync it?
