Course Pacing and Due Dates Visibility

Hello! I'm very new to Canvas and very Excited about the Course Pacing option! My understanding is that it is still under development so I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if it hasn't evolved yet.  

Is it possible for the Admin and Teacher to see the Due Dates on the Assignments Tab? I know we can see it from course pacing - but it would be super helpful if it transferred there as well.  

Additionally - I'm not sure why, but the Due Dates don't show up on the student's view the first time I publish the Course Pacing.  I usually have to go back into the Course Pacing, again select the particular section (vs. the course itself) and hit Publish again.  This makes the Due Dates appear in the Student View of the Assignments Tab BUT it also then says I have multiple Due Dates (which I don't - or maybe because the "course" doesn't have Due Dates?). This message also appears for the Teacher. 

Anyway, If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it! 

All this said, I really hope there can be a link between the Assignments and Course Pacing as Course Pacing would save me a TON of time.

Hi @NaomiRokos, I'm so glad to hear that Course Pacing has the potential to save you a ton of time! That's exactly what we're hoping for. 

To answer your first question about seeing the due dates on the Assignments tab, the answer is no, not right now, but I see how that would be helpful. Thank you for sharing! 

Regarding some issues around due dates not showing up, I haven't been able to recreate them in my sandbox, but it's possible I'm using a different workflow than you. A lot of changes will be turned on in beta on Monday, February 20 at approx. 10 am MT. Do you mind trying it out again in beta next week and we can see if you're still having issues? I'm excited to hear what you think and I hope at some point we can connect so I can learn more about your use case.

Hello Allison, 

I have tried viewing Due Dates in the Assignments Tab after creating a course pace and it still does not show up. 

Additionally, it has come to my attention that Teachers are unable to view the due dates in their calendars when I use Course Pacing to set up courses instead of individually editing each assignment to add a due date.  Would you please advise what I may be missing?  

I really want Course Pacing to work for everyone and not just be visible to students.  I still see the potential for it to save me loads of time if everyone can easily view the due dates. (I still can only see them if I'm in the Course Pacing Tab or Viewing Assignments from Student View).
