Hi @BaileyRadel ...
I definitely have solutions for you for the first two items. As for the third about wanting copied items to be placed somewhere other than the bottom of a module, I can see where this would be helpful. But, this isn't currently possible...as far as I know. Anyway, here's what I can tell you:
When I'm copying a module to multiple courses, I have to copy the module individually to each course. Then, after an undisclosed amount of time, the module appears in the new course at the bottom. It would be awesome if a) I could select multiple courses for this module to copy to
You can actually use Canvas Commons to do something similar. The process is:
- Build out the structure and content of your module in one course.
- Share the entire module to Canvas Commons (you can share it privately just with yourself...if you prefer).
- Once it has been shared to Commons, use Commons to import the content into other sections of your course at one time.
The nice thing about this is that if you ever need to update something in all sections of your course, you would only update it in the course where you initially built the module content. Then, you would re-share that module to Commons. Commons recognizes that a change to your module has been made (and you can add "version notes", too). Then, you can choose whether or not you want to apply the updates to the other courses where you had imported the content from using Commons. Essentially, it's an "update once, distribute to many" kind of way to do things.
b) get a notification when it's been successfully copied over, and c) be able to select where I want the module to appear (at the top, at the bottom, after x module) like you can with the move to.
Any time you are using any of the tools to copy/import content (this also includes importing things from Canvas Commons), you can always go to your Course Import screen to check on the status. While the status bar doesn't really display a time frame as to how long it takes to import, it does show a progress bar to let you know when it is completed. How do I view the status of current and prior course imports?
I hope this helps to answer at least some of your questions.
