Looking for any recommendations on a tool that instructors can use to gauge the availability of their students for their weekly class Zoom sessions. It would ideally look something like the attached, which is a Google Form that we currently use but has caused confusion and lots of backend work to set up and clear every term.
I know Canvas used to having a polling tool that was discontinued and other users have recommended an ungraded survey. I'm hesitant to go that route as it won't be supported in New Quizzes and there are aspects of it that still resemble a quiz and not a true survey.
Thanks, as always for your suggestions!
Hi @Carter41 ...
Have you looked at Doodle.com for asking students about their availability?
Thanks, Chris. They are on my list of 3rd-party apps to explore. I read on their site that they can't be embedded, which is what we are looking for, as we don't students leaving Canvas. Another Community user did post this embed code for any website, so I will also try that:
<p><iframe src="PASTE URL HERE" width="600" height="3200" style="overflow: hidden;"></iframe></p>
@Chris_Hofer Unfortunately Doodle is not embeddable even using the code above. They also require that the dates you provide in your poll be specific calendar dates, where as we want to set up broader answers like Mondays 8-9pm, Tuesdays 6-7pm, etc.
Have you tried Poll Everywhere?
We did thank you. My notes from earlier this year say, "Survey has a permission needed/privacy warning, then a continue button, then it asks for your name although you can continue as a guest" which I know we weren't crazy about. I'll revisit it to see if anything has changed. Thanks again for the suggestion!
