Essay question feedback

I have created essay questions in my new quizzes several times for exams.  When I am grading their answers, we are able to type in a comment box underneath what they have answered correctly or incorrectly.  And then to justify the number of points I give them for the answer they gave.  

However, after my students look at their exams, they are unable to see anything that I have typed in response to their essay question.  So they don't understand what they missed.  

I have followed all the instructions that were given in the canvas guide to show feedback, but it still does not show up for them.  A post back in 2023 showed an image of what needs to be activated under settings but it still doesn't work.  

Why can't my students see my comments back to them on their essay questions?  I have only used NEW QUIZZES so I know it has nothing to do with the difference between Classic and New quizzes.  Please let me know ASAP because I now feel I am wasting my time giving them a response back in the feedback box and they can't every see it.

According to this guide this is where students can go to view the comments. Is this where students are going? If they are and are still not able to view I recommend contacting Canvas Support.

Are your students following the guidance in the https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Student-Guide/How-do-I-view-my-quiz-results-as-a-student-in-New-Q... support article to view the:

1. results
2. (as mentioned at the end) feedback

The guide that @masantos provided is another way but:

1. is not specific feedback given by an instructor for New Quizzes
2. because it is not specific to New Quizzes, there are some additional clicks.

I think I figured it out.  The comments I made on their quizzes didn't save!  I spent time on them yesterday and then when a student pulled them up, there was nothing there.  I just did it again and the students pulled it up and they appeared.  Ughhh so frustrating that they didn't seem to save.  But thank you so much for the response.  I now know where to find everything!  I thought I was losing my mind!  HA HA
