I do not know of a way to change the display of the assignment groups from percentages to points. You would think that you would have the option like you do on the total column(provided you are using points based gradebook). I tried a gradebook with both weighted assignment groups and unweighted assignment groups(points based gradebook). In both cases, all you see are the percentages for the assignment groups. With either gradebook format, you as an instructor can click on the students percentage and see the points result i.e. 50/75 for 66.67%.
There may be something in the instructors manual - I did not check it.
@EileenBridges ...
Without revealing student names/grades, can you please share a screenshot of where you are seeing percentages for assignment totals? I think a bit of extra detail from you would be helpful so that Community members can help you out...thanks!

Hi,
@EileenBridges I have found that the total column will show the % if there has not been a Course Grading Scheme applied (Canvas can't convert between the average % without this lookup schema).
If a Grading Scheme is applied at a Course level then the Total usually shows both. I am unsure if there is a way to remove the %.
The screenshots are from a test course with and without grading scheme.
Cheers,
Gareth
Yes the total column can be changed from points to percentages if the gradebook is points based. If the grade book is a weighted gradebook then it can only display percentages.
I believe what @EileenBridges wants is to be able to see the points instead of percentages on the assignment group totals - not the total grade column.
I do not know of a way to show points instead of percentages for those columns.
