We have a faculty member trying to use the Free Draw annotation tool in SpeedGrader in their Chrome browser (normal and Incognito).
They are able to use the other annotation tools, but when they draw something with the free draw tool and release pressure on their mouse button, trackpad, or drawing pen - rather than seeing the normal buttons to confirm or delete the drawing (see image below) - the main section of SpeedGrader (where the submission and drawing are) flashes white/reloads and the drawing is lost.
The issue didn't occur in Edge or in Chrome on my computer - so it seems to be specific to Chrome on this user's computer. Using an Incognito browser should rule out caching or cookie issues - so I'm at a loss as to what other settings could be causing this semi-refresh of just the submission area of SpeedGrader when he finishes his drawing.
Has anyone else seen this behavior and, if so, were you able to determine the cause?

I suspect that the behavior with the free draw annotation in Canvas for this user is likely caused by an extension that has been enabled in Chrome, a setting on the device for the behavior of the mouse/trackpad, or potentially (but hopefully not) a virus or other malware that is tracking the cursor. I recommend first ensuring that the user has an up-to-date version of Chrome installed and that all unnecessary extensions are disabled on Chrome (clearing cache/history wouldn't hurt either). If this doesn't resolve the behavior, restoring the mouse/trackpad settings to the default settings and running a virus/malware scan on the device would be my next recommendation.
