A colleague of mine and I were testing assignment submissions. On the first try, she got a "Submit Failed; please try again." This error message shows up in all browsers, including incognito. The assignment was only submitted after the second try in all browsers.
Is anyone aware of the reasons behind this error message? What is causing this error? How can it be resolved? I have attached the screenshot.
Thanks.
@mlunga ...
I may not be totally understanding your question, but it looks like the file that you are trying to submit does not have a file extension on it. The file name, "Chatty Cathy" doesn't seem to have any kind of file extension such as "Chatty Cathy.docx" or "Chatty Cathy.pdf". Have you tried uploading the file with a file extension to see if that will work?
Thank you for your response, Chris. The file extension only shows up on the second or third submission attempt. The first failed attempt does not seem to recognize the extension. Could it be that the submission failed because there is no file extension? Why is the file extension only showing up on the second or third attempt and not the first?
Thanks

As far as I know, files need to have some kind of extension on them. Sometimes instructors will limit the kinds of file extensions that are acceptable to submit for a particular assignment. For example, an instructor might limit an assignment to only accept *.pdf and *.docx files. But, that's most likely not the case with your situation. Not having a file extension would probably throw an error like you saw. Does this help at all?
