Has anyone else encountered the issue of announcements and discussion posts not displaying?
Since the end of October, we’ve experienced a problem with Canvas announcements and discussion boards, where posts with an 'available time' setting sometimes fail to display. However, when I remove the 'available time' setting, the posts become visible to students again.
This has been troubling us for a few weeks, and as a result, we’ve had to ask teachers to stop using the post time feature. We’d like to know if there were any adjustments made to the 'available time' feature during a system update, as we did not encounter this issue before.

Hi @TingTing123 and @DavidHagerty,
If you're still experiencing this issue, I'd recommend that you contact Canvas support so they can investigate. It doesn't seem like this is a super widespread problem, so if you have examples you could show to support, it may help them track down the root cause of the problem and get it fixed.

Hi @TingTing123 ...
In a recent Deploy Notes document, there was a change to the timestamp for announcements:
Canvas Deploy Notes (2024-10-23) - Instructure Community - 618621
...though I'm not sure if that's totally related to what you are asking about.
Hi, Chris
Thanks for your reply. Based on the update documents you provided, we suspect that this issue may be related to the recent system update settings.
Recently, we’ve been receiving reports that announcements or discussion posts with an 'available time' setting are displaying correctly on the teacher's side, but appear incorrectly on the student's side. Please refer to the attached screenshots for further details.
However, when the teacher removes the 'available time' setting, the posts become visible to students.
I am experiencing the same problem where announcements disappear before or after they are due to post. I've tried the fixes recommended here without success. Any other suggestions?
