Seems obvious but preview does not show such: In a quiz with both multiple choice and multiple select, does the quiz not indicate the question type? If it doesn't, which would seem to be pretty brain-dead, then we need to type in "select all that apply" each time, right? Searched for this repeatedly and couldn't find an answer. Thanks.
Hi John,
I am going to share this over with the https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/designers?sr=search&searchId=c6eb71e7-7cff-44ba-b4ad-ea33329a... group who might be able to better answer you question.
Hi @john_svoboda
I just tested this, and no Canvas does not label question type for students. That is likely why I have always clarified this in the actual items - it had just been too long since I checked.
Also, please note that the only true student view of a quiz in Canvas is to do so as the Test Student (or as a dummy student), by going into settings and clicking "Student View". Preview won't do it.

Thanks. Seems a no-brainer to clarify type of question automatically in the quiz engine. Can't imagine a downside. Should certainly warn instructors they need to include that descriptor in each question.
Also causes me to wonder what the purpose of "Student View" is and why it is called such if it does not in fact exactly portray what the student sees.
