When printing a longer quiz in New Quizzes, the last few questions won't print

Hello! One of our special ed teachers came to me with this issue. She is trying to print some of the new quizzes based final exams for her students with accommodations. A short quiz will print fine when you go through the three dot menu in the build screen and print the quiz. The problem is that a longer quiz will print almost to the end, but the last few questions will not print and you instead see the "Exit preview" button that you see onscreen in preview mode. She's working around it by screenshotting the last few questions currently, but this seems a weird glitch to have as many people will have longer quizzes they may want to print.

I've attached a screenshot of the print preview. This quiz should have 48 questions.

Has anyone else found a workaround to get the whole thing to print?

I've seen this question come up a couple other times recently in a Facebook group that has a lot of Canvas users in it.  I recommend reaching out to Canvas tech support on this one.  Chances are someone else has already reported this to the help desk staff, and if that is the case, you'll be added to that ticket as well so that you are updated if/when the possible issue is fixed.  You can contact the help desk staff by following the instructions in:

I heard from them yesterday that the engineers are investigating the problem. My "case number" has been attached to an internal tracker, so once they figure anything out, I'll be notified. I will definitely come back here to report out anything I hear!

Jen, I know what's going on here. In Classic Quizzes, all questions could be printed when previewing, but this is not the case with New Quizzes when a preview is active.

Here's what you need to do.

1. Make sure you are at the Build page. If you are previewing this quiz, you must first end it.
   1. To end the preview and submit, click the blue Submit button at the top. We recommend this so that you catch any mistakes made during the grading.
   2. If you do not want to submit your answers, click Exit Preview instead of Submit.
2. Click the three dots icon at the top. Select whether you want to print a quiz with or without answers. Sometimes, answer keys may have mistakes, so be sure to check and verify that the answers are valid. We don't want to encounter situations in which students may have found errors in the quiz.
3. Adjust the font size if needed, and then select Print Preview to see how it looks like. Do not use the File > Print option from your browser, as the questions could be cut off.

Please note that printed answer keys may not work correctly when Formula questions are added. This is because the values change every time a quiz attempt is being run.

Hello, Kelvin. As I mentioned in the original post, this was happening when I went in through the three dots at the top and choose print blank quiz there. I was not in preview mode, although going into print through the three dots does open a preview mode screen. I received confirmation when I submitted the ticket that this is a known issue at Canvas and their engineers are working on it. I just received info last week that they are testing a solve in their beta environment, which is great news. It will hopefully be released to the Production environment soon!

I just wanted to report that actually I just had my original teacher check back in on the quizzes that were giving her an issue during finals week, and she is now able to print all the questions. The fix has worked!
