Hello,
I was wondering how Intelligent Insights determines if a course meets criteria for course readiness? For example, if an admin turns on Syllabus as Content Criteria, how does Intelligent Insights know that the criteria has been met? Would a teacher need to have added some content to the Syllabus page, and if they did, would that action alone mean that Intelligent Insights determines the criterion has been met?
Thank you!

@benjamin_rodrig not with more details about the individual criteria elements than in the documentation linked above, but great idea and we'll make sure to publish a more detailed version in the documentation when we roll out the in-product criteria descriptions.
Hi @benjamin_rodrig - great question! Every available criteria element is different, but generally speaking each is focusing on an attribute or feature of the courses that might be relevant when determining course readiness. Institutions can pick and choose those criteria elements that they would like to consider when establishing course standards.
On the example of Syllabus, the tool will check if the syllabus is populated or left empty for a course. You can also require a minimum word count, to make sure course syllabuses are properly detailed as well.
We're also planning to roll out a quick enhancement to the Criteria page, where further information will be available to describe and explain each of the available criteria elements, so that it is more clear what Intelligent Insights is checking when determining whether a course meets a criterion or not.
Can it still provide information if faculty doesn't use the syllabus tool in Canvas? Often I see faculty just uploading their syllabus to a module (for example). Not how I would advise them but happens a lot. Thank you!
Hi @GergelyTar ,
Thank you for the information, I appreciate your time!
Is there any documentation available on the criterion for the readiness elements, out there that we might be able to preview?
