Oh, RATS!

Come one, come all. Step right up and see how the we have begun to implemented iRATs and tRATS into a fully  course.

Working to apply Team Based Learning principles to an  course have proven to be a Herculean feat of  strength & determination. The start of this session traces back to a community post back in September 2017 (So You Want to Have Team Based Learning Quizzes). Come learn how we learned from our initial attempts and where we want to go in the future.

UPDATE 7/18/18: I hope to make this session a bit interactive polling, so if you plan to attend (& I hope you do) and can, please have a QR code reader or cell phone for texting with you. Hopefully we don't bring down the WiFi.

The RATS got my attention here,  @mjennings ! (with cute carnival rats too ha ha). One of the first projects I worked on during a stint when I was in the IT department at my school back in 2001 was creating a website for Team-Based Learning, which is when Larry Michaelsen and Dee Fink were developing that approach in the business school at OU. The students loved Larry's classes! 

My school has since taken that site down (both Dee Fink and Larry Michaelsen have moved on), but I found this animated gif online; it is one of the first gifs I ever made, using cartoons that Sue Clancy had drawn for Larry back in the day. . I am so glad to see RATS and TBL still going strong! I remember Larry asking me back then if I thought it would be possible to do TBL online, and with the primitive tools available then, it wasn't really feasible. I will try to attend your session because I am so curious to see what you have done!
