Highline College - HigherEd
Students from different cultures and backgrounds experience our colleges, classes, and technologies in many different ways. Research has shown that a mismatch between campus and instructor cultures and that of our students impacts their success. This session will describe how you can make your Canvas course more culturally responsive.
Can't wait for this! This has been on my mind a lot lately...
Here are the resources, citations, and other materials from today's presentation. Thanks to all who came!
This was a helpful session, thanks, MLentini! I went to the Submit Gradable Work Anonymously to Instructors session later in the day, and found that this idea of anonymous grading would also help to make courses more culturally responsive.
Also, here's a photo of the room right before the session:
Feels good to see this many folks interested in making culturally responsive classes in Canvas!
Thanks Marc for your excellent presentation. kshowalter asked me Thursday evening what the highlight of the conference was and your presentation was the first thing that came to mind. Progress comes best from creative solutions that do not depend entirely on technology.
