Is there an option to turn off comments all together in studio media? I do not want to waste time managing the comments. I want them to go away.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Great question! It removes all of the tabs below the video including the tab for captions. However, changing the speed and the ability to turn on the captions are still available using the gear icon at the bottom right corner of the video.
Regarding making the change after the video is already embedded: I was able to go into the HTML on the page and find a difference between the same video embedded twice. One video had the Display Media Tabs toggled on and the second one was toggled off. I was able to make a change in the HTML to remove the tabs under the video. However, there was black space all around the video due to larger dimensions in the iFrame. When I also adjusted the width and height dimensions to match the video with the Media Tabs toggled off, the black space disappeared and it looked just like the other video (toggled off) on the screen to the instructor and the user. So, is it possible, yes. However, it might be easier to delete the current video and re-embed it with the Display Media Tabs toggled off.
Hope this helps!
Hey @rdwalston1 !
To eliminate the ability to comment on Studio media, make sure to toggle off the Display Media Tabs when adding Studio media to your content.
Hopefully this solves your issue.
Does that just make comments unavailable or does that also affect captions, playback speed, etc?
Also, is there a way after the video has been embedded?

Cool! I'll give that a shot
I had to duplicate the assignment so I didn't mess up the one students were working on, but I was able to embed a version w/ the tabs turned off and figure out which code to swap. For mine, it was about the first half of the code up until allow full screen. I just copied the code from what I wanted and replaced the code in the video I wanted to turn off the comments on.

Nice! I love it when a plan comes together!

I wondered if you would pick up on that. lol It's the small things that bring so much meaning to life.
