i have about 30 assignments listed under assignments with descriptions and due date. the students ask that it appears on their calendars as a reminder. how do I do that?
Assignments should automatically appear on calendars as long as you set a due date (which may be different from the available until date). I don't think there is a way to disable this functionality if you wanted to, so I'm a bit stumped by this question. Maybe the students have the calendar for the course turned off for some reason? You could point the students to How do I use the Calendar as a student? - Instructure Community to make sure they are looking at things correctly.

@chriscas is absolutely correct. If your students are NOT seeing it in their calendar, make sure that their calendar is "turned on". This link may help with that.
