Over the weekend, the way I interact with different course sections and assignment groups in the gradebook changed, and now I have to select and apply different filters EVERY TIME I want to look at a different course section or assignment group whereas in the past I could easily and quickly toggle through a dropdown to view a particular course section or assignment group. This fix is NOT progress. I am an instructor, and this change is more time-consuming and less user friendly. You broke what was working! Please return to the former functionality.

@kstubbs1 ...
I wonder if you are referring to the Gradebook updates that are referenced in this past Saturday's Canvas Release Notes?
Also, this blog posting is referenced as part of these updates:
Say Hello to "Enhanced Gradebook Filters" as the N... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
You could certainly express your concerns to Sam's blog post if you wanted.
I hope this info will be of some help to you.

I 100% agree with the person who posed this question. This is NOT progress and makes my job a lot more tedious and harder. I am not sure who the early adopters of this process were but it is NOT good! It is so much harder to go between sections of my course. I also agree why break what was already working? I hope you consider bringing back the easier way to view sections in a course.
@merwin1 ...
I understand it can be frustrating losing things that were working well for you. (I still sometimes wish I had a CD player in my car because I have rather large music collection, for example.) I'm not sure if you had a chance to read the blog post I had posted a few days ago:
Say Hello to "Enhanced Gradebook Filters" as the N... - Instructure Community
...but it does detail the reasonings for the change.
You could certainly submit an Idea here in the Community to make suggestions on how the new Gradebook interface could be enhanced/improved. Check out the section on "Ideas and Themes" via this link:
Instructure Community Guide - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
I hope this will help a bit.
I tried to submit an idea as you suggested and it did not work. I could not type in the box.
@libbee3 ...
Did you try clicking on the blue "Submit an Idea" button on this page?
Hear hear! Well said. We DO NOT like it.
I 100% agree, as does every educator in our lunchroom today. We all REALLY dislike the "updates". It makes switching between classes (which we do all the time to enter missing work and late papers) a serious pain!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE at least give us the option. People who change these things do not use these things. Interface developers are not educators.
