Turn It In Error - Assignment opened to student who can't submit

I've assigned a closed assignment to a student by altering the dates it is available to them (assigning it to them in the assignment settings) but they keep experiencing this Turn It In error when they attempt to submit and so cannot submit.

I've tried turning assignment settings on/off, turning Turn it In settings on and off, choosing Turn It In to open in a separate window, but can't fix it. I can see other students had the assignment opened to them beyond the original due date and could submit so I can't work out why this is happening.

Am I missing something?? Any help gratefully received as it's driving me up the wall.

@AnnikaMcQueen Apologies for the tardy reply! I agree switching browsers is always worth trying. If the problem persists, you could author a new assignment in Canvas and use selective release to only target the student who needs to submit. That is not ideal, but maybe it would work?

From the screenshot, it looks like your school/institution might be using Turnitin via the LTI integration.  When my institution used that integration type for a year, we ran into similar problems to this, as external LTI tools sometimes seem to have trouble with differentiated due dates (especially if the tool has it's own date settings, which Turnitin did).  You may want to ask your Canvas administrators if they've considered adopting the "new plagiarism framework" integration for Turnitin instead of LTI.  This integration has performed much better for us, and doesn't have issues with differentiated due dates at all.  I think there are some reasons to choose LTI over new plagiarism framework too though, but definitely something I'd suggest starting a local conversation around.

I think @dhulsey gave a good short-term workaround (assuming Turnitin doesn't have an issue with having an assignment just assigned to a single student).
