I am looking for some guidance for Advisors (departments, colleges) on tracking at-risk students in Canvas. We have several of our colleges interested in what Canvas can offer them in terms of tracking at-risk students, especially at the college level and not just individual faculty tracking using course analytics. I thought this might be a good place to start!
Hi there, @michellemeazell ...
Have you investigated the third-party external LTI tool called Dropout Detective by AspirEDU? I used to work at a Technical College, and we purchased Dropout Detective for a few years and had good results. You can find more information at Edu App Center: Dropout Detective. There is also some information you can find at ASPIREDU EDUCATIONAL ANALYTICS. I'm sure that @Chris_Munzo would be happy to tell you more about it.
I'm sure there are other LTI tools that are available at Edu Apps (eduappcenter.com). In fact, if you go to the EduAppCenter and then type in the word "risk" (without the quotes) in the search box, you'll find some other LTI tools in addition to Dropout Detective that might have some features you are looking for...but I'll leave that search up to you to investigate.
Hopefully these resources will be of help to you, and hopefully Chris will be able to chime in with some helpful solutions for you, too.
Sing out if you have any other questions about this...thanks!
Hi, @michellemeazell -- As Chris Hofer mentioned, our Dropout Detective does provide advisors with views of their assigned students, with data from across all courses in which the students are enrolled. We already support several programs within your university. Feel free to reach out to me here if you'd like to learn more.
