Subscribing to a single course calendar

Hey folks-

We are looking for a way to use a Canvas course calendar as a tool for planning and promoting events on our campus. The idea is to have all event producers added to our NSC Event Planning shell where they can add Events to the course calendar and see what else is happening on campus at the same time.

Our hope was that the Calendar Feed would be specific to just that one Canvas course, but it actually picks up all of the events and assignments from ALL of the Canvas courses you are enrolled in.

Is there a way to subscribe to the feed of just one Canvas course?

Or, more directly, is there a way to generate an .ics link from a Canvas course calendar that is ONLY linked to that course and can be shared out similar to a Google calendar?

Hi @JimJewell,

Unfortunately, I don't think that's possible right now.  The export feed from Canvas, as you've noted, includes all of a user's courses plus their personal calendar.  There is an idea theme for calendar syncing and scheduling, but I don't see something like this in that theme right now.  You can submit this as an idea to have it considered for future development by Instructure if you'd like.

Just following up on Jim’s original question: 
Is there a way to generate calendar subscription link for a specific course calendar? 

This idea appears to not have been submitted yet. I plan on doing so but figured I would ask yall to verify first. 
There is another idea linked to the theme Chris mentioned above where when a user is subscribed, everything comes in as 1 calendar and 1 color. Separating the courses and assigning each a calendar subscription link would allow the user to modify settings (color, alerts, importance, etc) for each course.
