I just sent an announcement to all my classes describing how they will access SI Sessions. I used the FILE tab to upload three pdf tutorial documents from my desktop. They show as three links in the announcement. A student just contacted me and said when she tries to open the files it says “access denied.” She says she generally has no problem opening PDFs on her computer. Do you have any thoughts?

Hi Catherine:
Without being able to see your course or know what devices, browsers, versions, etc.... here are some thoughts/ideas:
- Files: are the files Published in the Files Index page?
- Is the student trying to click on the links to the Files from an email notification of the Announcement? If so....is she logged in to Canvas?
- If the student is having trouble from the email notification -- perhaps have then enter the course and access from Announcements
- Is the student using an approved browser and is the browser up to date? (I personally recommend Chrome)
