Past Enrollments

What is the sort order of the Past Enrollments list under Courses? I can't figure out how these are being sorted - it is not by term, or course number or section? Does anyone have any idea?

Hello  @govreacl ‌, it should be using the start and end dates (under "Settings" -> "Course Details" tab) which normally does correspond to a term but can be set independently

I thought so too, but when I looked at the course detail for start and end dates some courses had course start dates set by the instructor and some did not - however those that consistently had a start date were not necessarily in a particular term order.

Interesting...I know if you are an Admin, you can go into the Terms and set the dates for various users.  Maybe there is a setting in there???

I'd love to hear an answer to this question. I have over 30 courses listed under Past Enrollments and the order they appear seems to be random. It makes it very difficult to locate previous courses.

It is now May, 2024, and this question as still not been answered. My PAST COURSES in CANVAS needs a feature to arrange the courses by TERM. We've been using CANVAS since 2015 and the way that PAST COURSES are arranged is ridiculous and creates difficulty in reaching even recent courses. An option to arrange PAST COURSES by TERM would solve this.
