Does Canvas have a way of tracking student click-throughs/read files?

I am curious to have data to know which students actually access a particular file.  In specific, I am curious who actually reads the directions sheet to my writing project assignments.  Is there a way for me to generate a report on something such as this?

My institution just switched from Blackboard. It allowed me see analytics for when a student clicked on a link. This was an important part of one of my class, and I'm annoyed I can't do the same in Canvas. It's going to make a lot more work for me.
