New assignment layout with rubric and external tool causing issues

Hello,

We are using the nearpod external tool integration with our project. We also have a rubric we are attaching to the assignment.

However, when we use the open near pod in new tab it is sandwiched between the rubric showing up twice.  Students have to click the view rubric to minimize the one. My students just don't do that on their devices and will be inconvenienced by this. A picture of this is below. I just put in a sample rubric and this one is really small. The actual rubric is way bigger and it really puts a lot on the screen.

We have also tried just using the external tool not in a new tab. However, this makes the size of the nearpod way to small for students to read. We don't have the ability to change the frame size. It also is again squished between the two rubrics.

How can we fix this issue? This wasn't an issue till there was a new layout pushed out this week. It changed the size of the nearpod external tool and created this double rubric view where students have to collapse one of them.

If this is an issue that just popped up with the recent layout update, I would suggest submitting this to the Canvas Tech Support. Click on Help on the far left side of Canvas, then click Report a Problem. Make sure to include this picture you submitted. You can also link this discussion if you want to reference the shared details. This likely could be a bug that they are not aware is occurring. This community forum is mostly volunteers, not Canvas Tech Support, so they may not see your post. A help ticket not only alerts them to it, but if multiple people submit it, then they that can give them an idea of how widespread of a problem exists. It also means that when updates occur, you should receive a notification about it. They may even reach out with additional questions.

Definitely an annoyance, but hopefully one they can get fixed for you in a timely manner.
