I'm an admin of my school's Canvas. I believe this issue happened a long time ago when I started using the site and messed up a lot. The issue is that my account seems to link to another person's account. For example, when I search the name of that person in People, they show both that person's account and my account though we have totally different names. Also, when I add that person into any courses, the small window pop up and said
"There were several possible matches with the import. Please resolve them below."
And then I can choose whether it's that person or me to be added to the course.
However, If I add myself to courses, they don't show the pop up window, but that person would receive an email notification that he's been added to the course. How to stop this. Please help.

It's possible you merged your accounts together. Depending how long it's been, you could look at the guide to unmerge user accounts. If that doesn't work, you'll want to check your user/profile settings page to make sure the other person's email is not listed there. Also check the user details page from the users area of your account admin area and see if there are multiple logins or sis_ids listed. If there are, go ahead and fix those. As a tip, change extra login_ids to something different and remove any sis_ids before you delete, as you can't reuse them.
