Memo on Grade

Is it possible to add a private memo on a grade?

I have created a column for an attendance grade, and I want to leave a memo for myself (not for my students), such as "sick, family emergency, etc."

Yes, you can use the "Notes" column in the Gradebook to make private notes for yourself that students will not see.  The "Notes" column is not specific to any one assignment, though.  So, if you wanted to include private notes for two separate assignments, you would have to use the same "Notes" column for both assignments.  Here is a Guide for you to look at:
