I have a course that is offered in two different formats: 100% Online and self-paced, and a hybrid intensive (in-person for a week and online).
For the online and self-paced section, I want them to have access to everything all at once.
For the hybrid section, I want to lock all modules except the introductory module until the week the course begins. There are also three different start dates for these sections, so each will need to be different.
I've found how to lock modules for the overall course, but not by section. Can this be done or do I need to clone the course for each section?

Hi @FACE_TS
There is no option for locking modules or changing module release schedules based on section.

Hi,
I thought that the roadmap included Module by section as Roadmap Q2/3 when I looked at the start of the year. I can't see it on the current roadmap. Does anyone know what is the status of this?
Cheers.

Hi @WatsonWork,
The Q1 2024 Canvas LMS roadmap seems to have this item on it as of right now. There's typically no guarantee on the roadmap timeline, but hopefully we see that item soon!

Hi @FACE_TS ,
You might be able to use Prerequisites and/or Requirements along with Assignment differentiation to achieve want you want.
You would create a Prerequisite for each module. The prereq would be an Assignment in a previous module. That Assignment would be assigned with varied Availability Dates based on Section. If desired, you could make the Assignment a required element as well. Students would need to meet the prerequisite in order to unlock the next module but would not be able to access the prerequisite Assignment until the date you chose.
You could set such a prerequisite for each module, with corresponding availability dates based on section. For the online students you could just provide whatever information they need to unlock the modules all at once and make all the prerequisite assignments available from day 1.
How do I add prerequisites to a module?
I am unable to open the required reading assignment for my online course

Since we have no access to your class, you will need to contact your instructor so that they can see whether there are requirements that you have not met before the assignment is available to you.
