My instructor posted an assignment 1 day before it was due when my school requires it to be posted 2 days before it was due. Some of the students didn't see it because the day before we assumed that there was no homework and I was one of them. We confronted the instructor and she says that she posted 2 days before as required; how do I check to confirm when the assignment was actually posted.
Thanks
Good morning, @Mattybaby0331 ...
Unfortunately, I do not know of any way that you'd be able to tell when an instructor created and/or published an assignment in your course to make it available to you and your classmates. To be honest, I'm not even sure if there would be any way to do this programmatically (this would be outside of my realm) from a Canvas administrator's position. You may be able to try contacting the Canvas Help Desk, and they may be able to give you more information on that assignment, but I'm not 100% sure on that, either. How do I contact Canvas Support?
Sorry that I don't have better news for you, but I hope this has helped to answer your question. Take care...be well.
To anyone else trying to do this: go to course stream. The creation date will be listed under the assignment tab there.
To check when the assignment was posted on Canvas, go to the assignment page and click on the Submission Details or Assignment Information link. There, you should be able to see the exact date and time the assignment was posted. Alternatively, you can also check the course's Grades or Assignments section for the timestamp of when the assignment was made available. If you still can't find the information, contact your instructor or the Canvas support team for further assistance.
