How Do I Center my Text Headers in a Module?

Specifically, I'd like to know how this individual separated their modules with the headers you'll see in the image below. Using indents on the text header does not CENTER the text as the text will only indent so far. 

Any ideas on HOW the person did this?

Hi @hbrown5018 -

This is a great question! Unfortunately, the text headers do not have formatting options. Instructors and designers cannot change the bold/italics, size, color, alignment, etc. I wish that I had better news for you, but I hope that a definitive answer is helpful.

Thanks @KristinL  for your reply. I figured as much. 🙂 I tried every which way and nothing. 

I did find out from our IT analyst, that the school where this was done uses Ciditools. I'm wondering if they used that platform to manipulate the text headers. 

I also found out that this can be done with a custom CSS - but the trick would be to find a way to indicate that an element should be styled as such, e.g. if it's indented a 'silly' amount of times, say a level 5 indent, then we would apply the center style and jazz it up. 🙂 Per my IT guy.

I found a post and solution for my inquiry from Canvas Community Coach @Ron_Bowman - may not be an exact solution, but it HELPS tremendously so I wanted to share. The information may be found Colored Font - scroll down - he posted on 05-07-2021 the following: 

"You are lucky - I just figured out how to do what you want.  You can now use Latex about anywhere you can type in information.  You just have to know how to use it in Canvas and how it works in general.

first, you will need \(  and \)  as the start and stop delimiters for regular indentation.  or $$  information $$ for centering it ( I saw this from a post that the great James of Canvas lore posted - don't know where though).  Then you have to figure out how to use the latex information.

as an example below is my test module with three headers (note to actually show a space in latex you have to use \<space>  where <space> represents the actual space entered by hitting the space bar- you see that in the third header line before the definecolor part

first header the title name is: $$ {\textcolor{red} {\textbf {Title}} }$$

Second header : \( \textcolor{blue}{\underline{Title}}\)

Third header: \(\colorbox{yellow}{The text is written here}\ \ \definecolor{antique}{rgb}{0.98, 0.92, 0.84} \colorbox{antique}{hello}\)

I definitely don't have confidence in coding. I just copied the three different scenarios given by Ron, and then inserted different text, say where the text 'red' was and inserted 'blue'. But other than doing that, just copied and pasted. 🙂

Glad you were able to find the solution through the other post.  This is the start of my semester, so I am not looking at questions right now - Procrastination is a major Achilles heal for me.

In any case as a follow up, I was having some issues with the LaTex coding last semester, so there may be some issues that come up.  As for the page you posted, I believe that was probably all done with LaTex you just have to find the proper verbage to use to create that effect.
