I’m trying to join a group for one of my classes. For some reason it is not letting me

There are multiple reasons for you not being able to join a group. It could be full already, or it could be limited to students in the same section and have students from a different section on it already. 
The best option would be to reach out to your teacher about this and they would be able to assist you with joining a group.
