Delete / Inactive Old Grading Schemes from Account

Hi,

Our institute is looking to remove old grading schemes that are no longer in use. Despite being outdated, these schemes continue to be visible to users when enabling the course grading scheme. To streamline the user experience, we would like to either inactivate or delete these obsolete grading schemes.

Could you please provide instructions on how to achieve this within the Canvas platform? Your assistance in resolving this matter is highly valued.

• You can only edit grading schemes that have not been used for grading.
• If grading schemes are used to grade a student in a course, the scheme can no longer be deleted from the account.

If all the older courses where the old grading scheme has been used are deleted from the system, it may be possible to delete it, but I would check with Canvas Support to confirm that.

I have good news.  This functionality was recently added to Canvas.  The  How do I archive a grading scheme in a course? - Instructure Community - 601386  guide shows the steps needed to archive a grading scheme in a course and the  How do I archive a grading scheme in an account? - Instructure Community - 601375  guide shows the steps to do so for an account.
