I sent a URL for a student to enroll in our course and they tried to access the course, but get an error message and cannot access the course.
Error Message shows as:
{"errors":[{"message":"An error occurred.","error_code":"unprocessable_entity"}]}
get it done?
Hello @kszampruch
Thank you for contacting the Canvas Community. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with enrolling a student in your course. You sent a URL directly, as in you didn't go to the People tab and add the student via email or ID? Then they won't likely have access to it. Unless you added them, or the school added them to the course, it would need to be a self sign up course for the student to do it themselves.
Here is the Canvas guide:
If the student is still getting errors, they should try clearing their cache and cookies, trying another browser or likely contact the school directly.
You are correct, I changed the settings of the course to enable students to enroll using a URL. We attempted to add them by going to the People section and adding them there, but there were errors they were experiencing and the course was not showing up for them. We were then attempting to use the URL enrollment for the individuals who had trouble with their enrollment through the People section. We then made the course a "self sign up" course to allow these few students to enroll differently in order to go around the previous issues.
Additionally, we are the school running the course and this is why we are asking this question on the forum. I am currently one of the people troubleshooting these type of technical issues which seem to happen often with Canvas.
Thank you for the few pointers, but I would say this has not resolved the issue we are experiencing.
