Comment Library overwrites comments already there...could it simply insert at the cursor instead?

The title sums it up. I'd rather the Comment Library selection paste at the current cursor location instead of wiping out anything that's already there. Or have a way to copy the comment from the Library (I didn't see a way) so I could paste it wherever I want. Thanks!

Hi @seejayjames, this is very annoying, and I've experienced the same issue! I'd definitely recommend raising this with Instructure Support, as this should not be intended behaviour.
In the meantime, you might want to check out the Annotate Pro browser extension: Annotate PRO - 11trees It lets you insert comments from a library without overwriting existing text, and you can add formatted comments wherever you like in Canvas and other tools e.g. word docs. The free version is very capable and does not store any student data unless explicitly given permission to-do so.
