At my wits end! Am an instructor and after using various resizing websites, powerpoint, and lastly photoshop, despite using dimensions of 262 W x 146 H pixels for jpg, the result is always the same: a clipping of the image. Is there some toggle or box I failed to check somewhere in Canvas?

FOR MAC USERS: I found a successful way. The tools I used successfully were, screen shot and MS Word. First, make the correct size 262 W x 146 H pixels by using screen shot in mac.
1 When you size a shot of your screen there's a small window at the corner of the shot giving you the size. So move the screen shot frame so the measurement is 262 W x 146 H pixels. Take a shot of your screen so as to make 262 W x 146 H size automatic after that. 2 Insert your previously existing thumbnail image into a Word page and use the zoom glider at the bottom of the window to enlarge or decrease the image according to your screen shot frame size. Take a screen shot for a new image. 3 Adjust size if needed by putting the image into Word, then right click image for pop-up menu, then clicking "size and position." A window "Advanced Layout" appears in which you can change the image size by unlocking Scale and then within the Scale section, adjust size percentage (100%) for height and width accordingly. So for example I guessed my image had too much height by 40% and so set height to 60% while keeping width 100% (already determined image had W of 262px, required by Canvas).
I'm afraid my instructions are not exactly step-by-step but close recollection of the tools I used. Good luck.
