I am going insane here. I'm starting to wonder is there a limit to the number of account roles we can have.
I recently created a new Account role (ReadyGO) for our org. I can see it was created successfully.
You will also note that IT IS an Account role.
Now when I go to allocate the new Account Role in a Canvas account, it does not show even though my other roles do.
Can anyone shine any light on this conundrum? This normally is very simple, but I am going insane on this one.

Hi @julian,
Just wanted to check in quickly to see if this resolved itself for you. I remember running into this a few years ago, and it was basically a server-side caching issue. I had to wait about 30 minutes from the time I created the role for it to become available to select from the dropdown menu.

Thanks for checking in Chris. No, not resolved yet and the role has been there for weeks now, so I don't see it being a cache issue.
I am also escalating this to our CSM for hopes of a resolution.

Hi @julian,
I agree if it's been more than a couple hours, a cache issue is extremely unlikely. The only other thing I can think of around this is whether the role was created in a subaccount, and you're trying to use it for an account outside of the subaccount the role was created in. I think it's extremely unlikely given everything you laid out, but I'll mention that for anyone else who may happen upon this post in the future. Hopefully your CSM and/or Canvas Support are able to help out with this!

This issue may be occurring because your admin role has fewer permissions than the custom role. To resolve this, check the permissions tab and ensure that no permissions are unticked for your account while being ticked for the custom role. If a custom role has any permissions enabled for them and disabled for you, it will be considered a higher-level role, preventing you from adding it
