I plan to setup a badge that expires every year. Will it be possible for the student to attempt the same module again and be awarded with an updated badge with the new date?
Hello @leon_huang -
Yes, you can! Be sure to include your expiration date in the badge setup. You might even opt for "annual" badge designs to differentiate each issuance (i.e. 2023 version, 2024 version, etc.).
Hope this helps! If so, please mark this response with "Accept As Solution" - Thank you!

Hello!
Great question. A badge can definitely be set to expire X days/weeks/months/years after being awarded (in the badge design if awarded automatically - as in Canvas LMS) or on a specific date (if awarded manually/bulk/API). The challenge with having the badge re-issued through the same module is that a student who had previously earned the badge will have already completed all the module requirements, leaving them no way to re-trigger the badge award. If the module were updated to include a new item (perhaps a new annual assignment or something of that sort - swapping out for an old item or simply added), this would allow the student to re-earn the badge without revoking the previously awarded badge.
