Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Hi
I am hoping someone could help.
We were trying to look for a way to print out all of the pages on a course easily as we had a student who needed print versions of their pages for accessibility reasons. I came across this idea which seemed to be asking for the same thing.
It suggests that this feature does that but unless I am being particularly dim, which is possible. It exports the Modules as a HTML file that can be viewed offline but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to print all the pages in one go, obviously students can go into each page and print it but they could do that in Canvas already without exporting it.
Thanks
Rich

Hi @r_morgan_1
You can set a course to be exportable as either an HTML file or an ePub file, which can then subsequently be printed off with a bit of manipulation.

There are some limitations to both of these, but it may help,

Welcome, Richard! As far as I know, there is not a way to print the entire course easily. Even in this age of technology, it is a sad reality that there are some children do not have access to technology. I hope someone does come up with an easier way.

Hi Kelley
It was the printing off manipulation that I was having the issue with. How would I go about printing the HTML file out in one go?

Hi @r_morgan_1
I have no idea, having never done this, but found a wealth of help in a Google search.
Lots more, but ePub might still be your best best.

@kmeeusen , I just found this conversation and I'm trying to print a Canvas ePub for a student with accessibility issue. When I exported the ePub, it came with the print function disabled. Do you know if there is a setting that needs to be changed to make sure it can be printed?
You have exceeded the limits of my expertise. Seriously!
However, this guide states,
"ePub content is for offline viewing only; you cannot interact with course content directly, such as completing an assignment or viewing any submissions. In an ePub file, you can view assignment details, availability dates, and point values. Discussions include the discussion topic. All discussion replies (graded or ungraded) are considered submissions and must be viewed online. Additionally, you can view any embedded media files in the ePub. Any files that aren't supported in the ePub format, such as file attachments or PDFs, can be downloaded to be viewed in the file's native environment.
Currently ePub files and any associated files can only be generated in the browser version of Canvas, but the files can be transferred for viewing on any supported device"
Perhaps someone with more experience can chime in.
Kelley
Thanks, @kmeeusen ! I appreciate you responding so quickly!
Thank me for what? I was almost no help at all, throwing darts in the dark, making wild guesses. and hoping for the best.
@kmeeusen , LOL! I appreciate the quick response and effort to help! I know more than I did when I asked the question, so that deserves a thanks.
You are a nice person.
