Currently, to "Reassign" an assignment, that assignment must be set to allow multiple submissions from students. This becomes an issue because students can continually submit work that has already been accepted and graded.
The "reassign" function should allow a student to submit the same number of submissions as the original assignment. That way, individual students could be given an opportunity to correct and/or redo assignments as necessary, without opening up an entire assignment to repeated submissions from the class.

I agree with this. The inability to 'allow additional attempt' or 'ignore attempt' in Canvas assignment makes it difficult to manage these workflows. I like the reassign for the communication around a student allowed to resubmit, but the lack of the update on the number of submission limits is
