How do we turn off the point annotation coordinates?
Recently, faculty at our college have noticed in SpeedGrader that the point annotation tool had coordinates, which changed in relationship to where the mouse was moved. We were told that this was an intended feature created to give users a visual cue so that they knew where the Point Annotation was being placed in relation to the text layer of their document. We find it a bit distracting and wondered if it could be turned off or hidden.
No, nothing like that is possible.
I completely agree with having an option to toggle this on or off. For some, they might find it useful. I find it very distracting (indeed, for those with high visual sensory reactivity, it is problematic).
I agree, it is very distracting and wish it could be optional for those that do not feel it is necessary when grading. My colleagues do not show the coordinates and I had to create a screenshot for others to visualize what I meant. I even had to have this escalated up the Help Desk to determine that some conversation exists around this problem. Therefore, it seems strange that it is only occurring for some, and not all for others, if it is indeed normal. Multiple "fixes" attempted as suggested originally by help desk such as different browsers and clearing cache, but no solutions.
I also agree. I find it very distracting and don't see the utility in the information it presents. The lower sidebar moving as I work through a student's paper is very annoying.
