★ John was born in Texas, but did most of his growing up in Colorado. He came to Arizona to study engineering at ASU, and then earned his Master of Science in Multi Resource Management at Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff. He has worked most of his career in high technology, and across the last two decades, in high technology within a higher education setting. John presently serves Northern Arizona University as their Director of Instructional Design & Support. ★ John has been an award winning IT Director and IT Manager, a Certified Apple and Dell Repair Manager, an Emergency Response Manager, an award winning Business Manager, an award winning Sales Manager, an award winning Salesman, a Wildland/Urban Interface Fire Incident Manager, a Wildland Firefighter and Crew Chief, a Wildlife Rescue Technician, a Conservation Docent, a large scale Animal Habitat Engineer, and a Personal Trainer & Body Sculptor. ★ John has specialized training in Lean Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma for Service, ITIL 4, Prosci ADKAR, Leading at the Speed of Trust, LGBTQIA+ Advocacy and Inclusivity, 7 Habits for Highly Effective People, Harassment & Discrimination Prevention, One Minute Manager, Peoplemap Leveraging, Employee Conflict & Performance Issue Resolution Management, Hiring and Retention, Small Teaching, Understanding by Design, Backward Design, Learner-Centered Instructional Design, Wildland Firefighting, Hostage Rescue, Emergency Management, and SWOT Analysis. ★ John holds and has held a host of highly technical certifications and awards, including an ITIL 4 Cert, multiple Apple and Dell Certs, a CNA (Novell) Cert, a US National Red Card (Wildland Firefighter Cert), an EM-ATP Cert, Certificates in both Physiology and Kinesiology from the state of Arizona, a French Language Certificate from École-Club Migros de Suisse, and a national CRC Award for Excellence in Chemistry. ★ John lives in Flagstaff with his wife Julia (M.S. SLP; CCC-SLP, Pr.) and near his son Angelo (B.S.M.E.; ITSA Team Lead).
