Bio:
Chelsie is the Director of Learning Experience Design at the University of Denver's College of Professional and Continuing Studies. She brings with her over 15 years of experience learning about and teaching writing, and a deep love and respect for the power of language. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor's degree in English and Modern Studies. She completed a Master's degree in the Humanities at the University of Chicago, with a focus on contemporary literature and creative nonfiction writing. She is completing her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at DU (Spring 2024) in inclusive online collaboration methods. She has taught academic and professional writing at Roosevelt University, Harold Washington College, and now at the University of Denver. For the past four years, she has worked in an administrative role supporting and educating instructors on course development and teaching practices at the University of Chicago and the University of Denver's University College. Prior to her work in higher education, she spent two years teaching high school English in Gifu, Japan. While there, she also took on the role of Cultural Liaison for the National Council of the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program, which brought her around the country supporting cultural exchange and language learning programs and liaising with local and national Japanese government ministries.
