Dropping of Transfer Students from Rosters

We use Skyward to build our courses in Canvas. We were having an issue with students that withdraw from a campus coming off the rosters, we just figured out how to make that happen. However, now we are still seeing students on rosters for courses they no longer have. We figured out the issue here, is that they dropped a class a campus, but are still active at the school, or transferred to a new section of the same course, but are also staying in the original section. Does anyone know how to fix this with our data import?

We use Sungard not Skyward but use a similar process.  We use the drop date on the course and give the student an inactive state in the course.   The teachers don't like that they see them on the people link but the students can't see the course.  We leave them that way so the teacher can see the student's work if they need it.
